My Story: The patterns I carried, eventually led me back to myself...

I GREW UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT SHAPED BY RIGID BELIEF SYSTEMS and strict authority structures. From a very young age, I learned to suppress my needs, question my instincts, and measure my worth through external approval.

At home, control and unpredictability were part of daily life. At the same time, I was deeply embedded in a conservative religious framework that shaped my identity, values, and sense of belonging. I went on to formally study theology and held leadership roles within that environment.

OUTWARDLY, I was committed and capable.
INTERNALLY, I was in constant conflict.

As I began to recognise parts of myself that didn’t fit within those frameworks — including my sexual identity — I searched for understanding and guidance from the systems I had been taught to trust. What I encountered instead were attempts to correct, suppress, or override my lived experience.

OVER TIME, IT BECAME CLEAR that continuing in those environments came at a cost to my wellbeing. Leaving was not simple or clean — it meant losing an identity I had been given, a community I had relied on, and a sense of certainty about who I was and how to live. What followed was a long and often isolating process of rebuilding.

I had to learn how to listen to myself again. How to make decisions without external authority. How to trust my own experience after years of deferring it. That process was challenging, but it was also deeply clarifying.


WHY I DO THIS WORK:
Today, I work with people who have lived through similar patterns — particularly those who have stepped away from rigid belief systems, controlling environments, or identity-shaping institutions, and now find themselves feeling disconnected, uncertain, or unsure how to trust themselves again.

Many of my clients are thoughtful, values-driven, and deeply reflective — yet struggle with self-doubt, decision fatigue, or a sense of being unanchored after leaving structures that once defined them.
My work supports them to:

  • Understand the patterns that shaped their self-trust

  • Make sense of protective strategies that once kept them safe

  • Transform those experiences into clarity, confidence, and grounded self-leadership
